How the connection works
You install priceq on your shop and approve three permissions: read products, read inventory, write products. There are no keys to copy and no theme code to paste. Revoking the app in Shopify ends the connection.
What it reads from Shopify
Your catalogue at variant level, not product level, so a size or a colour that carries its own price is watched as its own line. Per variant priceq reads the SKU, the barcode, the price and the compare-at price.
How your products are matched
Through the barcode field on the variant, which is where Shopify keeps the EAN. A competitor listing is tied to your variant on that number and then verified. Where the barcode is empty or the number does not resolve, the variant goes to a review queue instead of being guessed from a product title.
What it watches
Every variant in your catalogue, against the shops you name. Prices are tracked over time rather than sampled, so a competitor who drops on Friday and recovers on Monday still shows up. Six alert types reach you by email and in the app.
What it proposes
A proposed price always shows the rule that produced it and the numbers behind it. Rules scope from the whole shop down to a single product, so a category that carries your margin can behave differently from one that carries traffic.
What it writes back
The variant price, and only after a person approves it, from the Business plan up. The compare-at price is read but never written. After each write priceq reads the price back from Shopify rather than trusting the confirmation, so what the dashboard shows is what your shop actually charges.
What it costs
From €99 per month for 200 SKUs to €699 for 5,000 SKUs. Every plan checks prices every day and includes all six alert types; from Professional up, the number of competitor shops is unlimited. The plan sets how large a catalogue is watched and how often. Above 5,000 SKUs it is priced to the catalogue.
Where it runs
On our own infrastructure inside the European Union. Your catalogue is isolated per customer, is never shown to another customer, and is never used to train anything.
